The Plane Tree Side Table builds on the design language of the Plane Tree Cabinet, extending its core idea: elevating fibreboard from a hidden structural layer to a celebrated surface. Here, the material is treated not as background, but as the main character—both structural and decorative. Precision-milled using CNC technology, the fibreboard becomes a canvas for unexpected beauty. Naturally shed plane tree bark is hand-collected, carefully sorted, and embedded into the milled surface. Each bark fragment—soft in color, rich in texture, and irregular in form—introduces a playful, tactile contrast that anchors the piece in quiet, organic elegance. As a companion to the cabinet, the Plane Tree Side Table continues to explore a new aesthetic language for sustainable materials—one that values imperfection, emotional resonance, and authenticity. It doesn’t mimic nature; it works with it. In doing so, it imagines a future where sustainability is not a limit, but a catalyst for creative expression.
